21 Days of Prayer
May 3- Day 21
“Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” – Ephesians 3:20-21 (ESV)
As we come to the end of these 21 days, this passage lifts our eyes to who God is and what He is able to do. Paul reminds us that God “is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think.” That means our prayers, as important as they are, are not the limit. Our vision is not the ceiling. God’s power goes beyond what we can imagine. And notice where that power is at work: “according to the power at work within us.” This is the same truth we have seen throughout these days. God does not work at a distance. He works in and through His people. By His Spirit, He is actively accomplishing His purposes through ordinary believers like us.
As a church, we have prayed for our community. We have asked God to move in the Oxmoor Valley. We have asked Him to save, to restore, and to draw people to Himself. And this passage reminds us that God is able to answer those prayers in ways far greater than we expect.
But the goal is not ultimately about us or even our church. Paul ends with this: “to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever.” God works powerfully so that He would be glorified. That is our desire. Not that our church would be known, but that Christ would be known. Not that we would be praised, but that God would receive the glory He deserves.
So as these 21 days come to a close, we do not stop praying. We continue. We move forward with confidence, knowing that the God we are praying to is able to do far more than we can ask or imagine. Let’s move forward with expectant faith, trusting God to do more than we can ask or imagine for His glory in our church and in the Oxmoor Valley.
Father, we praise You for who You are. You are able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think. Thank You for hearing our prayers over these past 21 days. As we move forward, help us to trust You more. Strengthen our faith and deepen our dependence on You. Work in and through our church to accomplish Your purposes in the Oxmoor Valley. And in all things, may You receive the glory in our church and in Christ Jesus for generations to come. We pray this in the name of Your Son and by the power of Your Holy Spirit, Amen.
